Instance administrators

Selected members of staff take care of the use of the system at you institution.

Their duties include:

• getting well acquainted with the system
• adding new users
• training new users
• overseeing software security policy
• adding new devices 
• adding responsible persons
• confirming bookings when required
• if applicable, the admins take care of the pricing and billing
• the admins are the contact persons for the ReservANT team, unless agreed otherwise

As opposed to other users the admin can see an additional bookmark Admin. This bookmark contains all necessary links to the overview of the instance set up:

Machine permissions

• A new user cannot access any machine, unless the machine has a set up Freely accessible.The admin grants the user permissions to access the devices the user needs.

• The permissions can be added by clicking on the ADD button

• The access is either full or subject to admin’s confirmation. The permission can be for an infinite amount of time or for a selected time period

• The permissions can be revoked

• Even the revoked or expired permissions are visible in the list

Machine discounts

Here, an overview of all set up discounts can be found. The discounts can be added here or removed.

• Each discount is defined by percent discount to the actual price

• Days or hours, when the discount should be applied can be selected: the discount can be infinite or applied only for a period of time

Funding sources

Funding sources can be defined to keep track from which project money the expenses should be covered.

• New sources are added by clicking on ADD

• In order to use funding sources, it is necessary to select funding sources for each user in the user’s detail list by clicking on EDIT, then selecting one or more available sources from the list, selecting the default source (optional) and confirming by clicking on the save icon

• Only the active funding sources are visible in the list

• Please note: if a source is deleted it is removed from the database

User types

The users can be divided into groups in order to apply different pricing for each group (for example an increased fee for external users). This is performed by defining a price multiplicator in the add user type form, so that the baseline price is increased by a certain proportion.

Machine types

Machine price grid displays the prices of all utilities for all user types

Reported problems

This is list of all reported issues. By clicking on the problem it is possible to add a comment on the issue and change the status to accepted, canceled or solved.

Configuration

Here, the settings of the instance can be inspected or changed. This functionality is under construction. Please, contact the ReservANT team via the Helpdesk if you have any questions regarding the configuration.
